Surprisingly, the biggest problem in the PDR business is not that there are other PDR companies willing to do a job for cheaper or that insurance companies are out to make a quick buck, but that the majority of people don’t even know what PDR is.
TV advertising is one of the best ways to get your name out there and reach a larger audience. Unfortunately, the budget for TV advertising is quite high, even for local networks. I had a representative from a cable company quote me $30,000 for 3 months of advertising – which was quite obviously something I was not going to do.
Luckily, a customer of mine came in one day and he was in the business of selling TV ads and said that he had some attractive offers. His company would essentially buy ad space that was not used and resell it at more affordable prices.
Basically, all you have to do is get a commercial produced and start advertising. You can even dial into specific areas because it is through cable. Unsurprisingly, the campaign got me a ton of traffic in the off-season so I can’t wait to run it when the weather turns. Best part is that I now own the ad so I can use it anywhere I want.
I suggest that you should be looking to TV advertising, if you can find good deals with it. It is better than radio and offers a more direct way to let people know what you do.
