Just got back from the Northeast Dent Tech Meet-up in Boston and it’s inspired me for this episode based on Event Based Marketing.
If you have access to a shop, setting up an event brings in some serious street credit and lets people know that you’re an expert in your field. Only recently, 2 separate events attracted over 50 technicians per event which is a great way to advertise.
About 15-20 years ago, dent repair technicians wouldn’t want to talk to each other because they didn’t want anyone else getting in on the action. Today, the PDR industry has come together unlike ever before and are sharing methods and secrets with other technicians.
I recently met a bunch of new technicians that have not yet been to MTE and other seminars and they were extremely welcoming and warm. Rather than competing against each other, the technicians today are working together and helping each other out. It is so important to build relationships in this industry so that together you can inform people about the PDR business. You can also do an open house and have body shops come in and get photos and coverage of the event so that everyone can check you out and see that you’re a professional.
Think of different events you can have at your shop and get people to come and check out what PDR is all about. Event based marketing is one of the best ways to brand your business and get your name out there.
